I admire...
I really admire Maria Callas (see above). While opera may not be your type of music, large numbers of people would probably agree that Callas is the ultimate example of a world class diva soprano. Its hard to believe that a voice like that comes from such a tiny frame of a woman. Maria Callas has a very interesting (and perhaps sad) story so if any of you are extra interested in her, look her up. I really like a few things about Maria Callas including:
1. her effortless breathing through really tricky and long phrases (my weakness!)
2. her expression
3. her vibrato spin (not too fast, not too slow or boring)
4. her vowel placement (nice and open and long)
5. her dark tone quality (this aria is often too "brassy")
6. her overall classiness
Who do you admire as a singer? (Anyone, dead or alive, current or retired)... What specific things do you admire about their singing? (I don't mean their lyrics or their "beats)-- what do you actually like about them vocally?

Ok Michael Buble is amazing! Not only does he have a great style, but he has a ridiculous range. Many know him for his low tone, but personally, the aspect that I most admire is his falsetto! Oh, Josh Groban's pretty good too!

I really like Leona Lewis, she can manage her voice really well. She's really good at low, high, short, and long notes... like all the singing types smushed into one singer. She would be a really good opera singer no lie :O
Hmmm I love Regina Spektor. Her voice is just plain ah-may-zing. She has a full range and can sing basically anything. The first time I heard her, I really really liked her but I sort of forgot about her. Sarah's performance of Samson last year reminded me of how much I love Regina Spektor soooo I guess that I means that I admire Miss Sarah Tenglin as well. =)

I admire Celine Dion for not only her beauty, but her amazing range. Also her powerful voice is something that is also astonishing and her breath control is great as well. The fact that she had her own show for a couple years in Las Vegas is a plus too.

alright well i have a lot of favorite artists so this is kind of hard for me but i think one of my favorite is john mayer. He has such a unique voice and i love the tone. Umm and I think keith Urban is amazing Like how can you be austrailian and sing country!
I happen to admire Renee Fleming. She has such a beautiful quality to her voice and she is truly an accomplished singer. She has complete control of her voice which is very difficult since she has such a big instrument. I have not watched her perform live, but it is definitely one of my goals!!

Personally, I really admire Avril Lavigne as a singer. She has a very unique voice, and it's almost impossible to find someone who can pull off a good Avril Lavigne cover. She has a really good vocal range, even if she only really shows it in her ballads. I love how she pronounces her words and that her pronounciation is very clear. Haha, plus she has a wicked cute clothes line :D (She designed all of my purple clothes!)

Kind of random, but I think Kate Pierson from the B-52's is someone I admire as a singer. Her voice is really unique; it has a lot of contrast and her tone is very different than other people. She can sing really high and pretty low, and always keep harmonies. She has a lot of engergy when she sings, and always has breath support. You can tell she uses correct techniques, unlike many singers in her industry.
A singer I admire is the lead singer of System of a Down because he did opera so his voice can stretch extremely far and he's also a good singer.

The singer that I admire is Celine Dion. I've always loved how she sings so like strong. She sounds really confident and just the way her voice sounds kinda adds to the meaning of the music I guess.

I really admire taylor swift as a singer. she has great range, especially as a country singer, but she also writes all of her own songs which i think is amazing. But besides that, she can go so effortlessly from chest voice, to belt, to head voice and anything in between. she is an amazing younger singer, her record label signed her when she was only 15!

A singer that I greatly admire and enjoy their music greatly is Amos Lee. He is incredibly talented and soulful. If u have never heard of him look up his songs Arms Of A Woman. It will change ur percpective on folk music forever!! His Voice is very soothing is he has the type of sound that makes u wanna sing along no matter what.
One singer that I admire is Leona Lewis. She has an amazing range and coule hold a note forever. She is also really good with her diction. I also find people like Flo Rida or Lil Mama really interesting since they can hit the beats dead on at such a fast speed.
The singer that I most admire is Celion Dion. I love her range of pitch. She also can sing in french and still sing beutifully. Not that french isn't already. When she sings in englsih she and pronounce everything beautifully making it very easy to understand the words.

so a singer i admire is Billie Holiday. I admire her because she is a blues/jazz singer from a long time ago. She also is a black women achieving more then most did back then. Her singing vocally is not only beautiful but she definitely has her own trade mark voice. For singing blues/jazz she sings very smoothly and with out a single hesitation. kk thanks :) jessssica bennnnwayyy
